Fantasia on a theme of Thomas Tallis, by Vaughan Williams.
One of my favourite composers is Vaughan Williams, my favourite piece of music? Probably, ‘Lark Ascending’, but THIS comes a very close second…
Haunting, profoundly moving, enigmatic, powerful, beautiful…how could you not be inspired when you listen to this?
Now THIS is the theme music for White Mountain! Check it out: http://youtu.be/kxdOYgTXtH8
Thank you Sophie, inspiring music. I’m listening now 🙂 Is Thomas Tallis (c.1505-1585), whose theme Vaughan-William used, related to you?
I’d LOVE to say ‘yes’, but sadly no! Just an unusual and strange coincidence, especially as it’s my favourite music and it’s named Fantasia – rather appropriate for a lover of fantasy! 😀
Perfect. Parallel worlds obvously exist …
Uhps, spelling is obviously low on my list today 🙂
Inspiration for the soul indeed.
Isn’t it? Something so moving about it, really hits you. Powerfully mesmeric I’d say. 🙂
